"Throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."

As summer begins, I want to commend the boys on embracing the symbolism of our class's banner. The white demonstrates the strength and pride associated with all of the boys' classes, and the black embodies the solid foundation they will receive in our lower school. These characteristics were shown throughout this year and will be carried into Tenth Age. The shape of the banner symbolized the growth of the class emotionally, socially, academically, and athletically. This development was evident throughout Ninth Age, and I cannot wait to see them take on their leadership roles next year. Enjoy the explorations, dreams, and discoveries of the summer, and I will see you next fall!

The topics this year are ranging from trebuchets to knighthood, and I cannot wait to see the performances and learn from our Ninth Age history teachers!

Pi Day Celebrations

Mr. Holmgren is a huge fan of math! In celebration of Pi Day he was on the receiving end of two pie throws! The students memorized 10 or more digits of Pi, and those with more than 20 were entered for a chance throw the pie!

Congrats to our Ninth Ager who memorize 142 digits!

Iditarod Map

We spent time this week studying the Iditarod map in geography. The boys traced the map and labeled the checkpoints on the both northern and southern routes to share in their folders.
